When Winter Comes, So Does Sickness

You better watch out. You better not cry. You better not pout. I’m telling you why: Cold season is coming to town! And chances are it will affect you or a loved one. Therefore, follow the scouting motto by always being prepared.

Battle the Common Cold

Sometimes no matter how hard you try to prevent it, the common cold still visits your home. Whether it affects you or your child, a cold has a tendency to take our time away from work, causing added stress. Fortunately, there are ways to alleviate any chaos that comes from suffering from an illness.

Plan Ahead

In most careers, some days are better than others to miss work. Always keep an eye out to see the times that are most flexible and the days where you are most needed at work. This way, if your child is the one who falls ill, you and your loved one have a plan on what days you’re in charge and what days your loved one takes over the care of your little one.

Prevent Where Possible

While some things are out of your control, you can take steps to prevent illness within your family. Are all vaccines up-to-date? Are you eating healthy foods? Are you exercising most days of the week? Are you resting and drinking lots of fluids? Make sure you’re doing all you can to build your immunity, including washing your hands regularly, among other health practices.
