Prevent Falls This Fall!
According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), falls are the leading cause of death within the construction industry. Wright Brothers Contracting works hard to ensure the safety of our workers to avoid these incidents on our construction sites.
Watch Your Step
While some people only consider it a fall if something falls from a higher position, slips and trips on a job site are just as dangerous for a worker. As a result, it’s vitally important that construction workers observe the area in which they are working for any potential fall hazards. Is there a change in elevation? Is the floor wet or muddy? How far is the step from the ground? These are all things that should be considered when trying to prevent falls.
Planning ahead is also key to preventing falls at work. If you know what job you have to complete in the days ahead, then you’re able to prepare for any conditions that could possibly occur. You are also able to better set up safety parameters around the job.
In addition, training should occur for all associates—old and new—including refresher courses on how to be safe while on a construction site. You can never have too much knowledge about safety. And everyone can use a reminder every once in a while on what steps need to be taken daily to ensure they, as well as their colleagues, remain safe while at work.
Safety is a priority on every construction site we work on. Contact us today to learn more about how our team will make your project a safe one.
