Getting Into a Routine | Wright Brothers Contracting

The team at Wright Brothers Contracting wants you to realize that while the kids are getting back into a routine for school, it’s an ideal time to get into a routine yourself that promotes a healthy work ethic.

Put Your Best Work Day Forward

While you didn’t necessarily get a summer break, you might have gotten out of sync with a regular schedule with the kids not in school. However, now that school is back in session, it’s important that everyone in the family is back on a routine that can help make for a successful work and school day.

First, a good day starts with a good night’s sleep. Therefore, it’s important that everyone go to bed at a decent hour so that everyone is able to wake up in a good mood when the alarm goes off. Practice good sleep habits to help ensure you sleep well—avoid technology near bedtime, make your bedroom a cool and dark environment, and go to sleep near the same time each night.

Also, you want to make sure you start the morning off with a healthy breakfast. Whether you choose Greek yogurt and granola or a bowl of scrambled eggs, you want to make sure that you have a breakfast that includes some protein so that you can feel full longer.

In addition, you want to try and exercise when you can, aiming for at least 30 minutes of physical activity on most days of the week. A new routine can be stressful. Work can be stressful. Kids can be stressful. Life in general can be stressful. So what better way to relieve some stress than through exercise?

Finally, don’t forget to establish a family calendar that has everyone’s schedule for the week and/or month. Be sure to include important work meetings, school events, etc., so that everyone is on the same page for what is going on with the family. However, no matter how busy your schedule is, always try to have dinner together as a family so that you can reconnect.
